Easy Toy Room Organization

Kids! I once read somewhere that a messy house is a playful house. Or maybe I just made that up to make myself feel good about the current situation we have going on! It might be super premature for me to share this since our entire house is still under renovation/not decorated, but I have received (and keep receiving!) questions on our toy room storage since it was including in this post on POPSUGAR recently (still shocked about this!). I thought it might be easier if I have a place to direct people will all the details instead of responding individually. I hope this helps for those looking for some easy and affordable organization options!

I was 100% inspired by @annakadavidson and how she styled this unit on her feed. I hope to one day have it as beautiful and put together as she does!

We got this shelving unit at IKEA and absolutely love it. We bought two and put them next to each other and have played around with separating them as well (see image below). My favorite part is that my daughter (now almost 2!) can reach her own toys so it encourages independent play AND enables her to help when it’s time to clean up. The baskets help store the items that are not as cute or easy to look messy items (blocks, random little toys that don’t have a home etc.) and right now she loves to read so we knew we needed a space for all her books though overtime I can see us re-designing this space and what it holds as she grows.

I work from home and most days the little table area doubles as my office!

This is my favorite room in this house and I can’t wait to actually get to work on updating and decorating it. Hopefully in time for baby #2 to arrive!! It has so much potential and it’s our favorite room to hang out in as a family so will be working on sharing more of what we do to this room (and others!).

This is what the other part of the room looks like. I need to work on finding a pretty solution for this mess! My two girls :) and yep I totally took this picture before asking her to get out from under the table because #memories.
